The Promise Concept

Promise is a long time dream of many. Our ultimate goal is to provide a much needed housing choice for our cherished family members with special needs. Because every person is different, Promise will have varying levels of support - based on individual needs. With a sense of independence long yearned for, Promise residents will have an inclusive, safe and fun place to live, among neighbors who care. Promise will also include vocational opportunities with on site training and continuing education.

We have a contract to purchase 39 acres of land (see it here) adjacent to the Hammock Landing shopping plaza in West Melbourne to build Promise. We will be able to build the housing complex for approximately 100 residents as well as have our organic garden and stables for our therapeutic riding program.

The Promise team has also developed a partnership with the City of West Melbourne in order to make our dreams of the Promise Cafe & Bakery a reality. We are thrilled to be able to build the cafe at the beautiful new West Melbourne Community Park. Promise residents will have a number of vocational training and employment opportunities at the Cafe and become an integral part of the West Melbourne community.

Dream Team

The Dream Team

The concept for Promise has been developed with the help of a special group of young individuals, which, we call The Dream Team. From the amenities to the floor plans, this team of future residents has worked closely with our designers since day one, sharing their thoughts and visions about everything the Promise lifestyle should offer.

Our dream is to have:

  • accessible pool and Jacuzzi
  • accessible putt putt golf course
  • an onsite mini store
  • restaurant
  • fitness /wellness
  • culinary arts program
  • thrift store
  • organic garden & nursery
  • computer lab
  • hair/nail salon
  • arcade
  • arts and crafts room
  • music room
  • video/theater room
  • video production program
  • riding stables
  • therapeutic riding arena
  •

In addition to a culinary and video production program, residents will have an opportunity to learn retail and property management, landscaping and lawn care as well as organic and plant gardening. Our vision is to have all Promise residents that aren’t already employed, gain work skills that can be used to help them attain employment at Promise or in the community.
